Books oddly ordered and scattered about a room in Detroit’s Old Cass Tech High School building. The doors at this 4000 student capacity building were locked in 2006, contents and all. In the rust belt locked doors never stay locked for long.
A pretty good sized group of film photographers went on this trip back in 2009. Sadly the building was razed in 2011. When I was there it was like an 8 story Call of Duty map or something. There was talk about how a gaming company should come through with video cameras and record walking through the building for a CoD or Halflife type of game.
This scene reminded me of the movie Ghostbusters when they came across a stack of books in the middle of a corridor and said: “Symmetrical book stacking. Just like the Philadelphia mass turbulence of 1947.”
I shot this with a Bronica SQa, looks like the wide angle 50mm lens, on Fuji Neopan Acros
